The Equality Act (Sexual Orientation) Regulations 2007

This law means that schools should make every effort to ensure that gay, lesbian or bisexual pupils or children of gay, lesbian or bisexual people, or same-sex couples are not treated less favourably than other pupils or singled out for different treatment.

Schools will need to ensure that homophobic bullying is taken seriously and dealt with as firmly as bullying on any other grounds. Click here for link to Regulations.
