GALYIC presentation

GALYIC members have produced an hour-long, dynamic, interactive, presentation aimed at schools and delivered it to two schools in Calderdale.

It starts off with slides showing pictures of famous LGBT people past and present, then moves into a music quiz during which students are asked to identify the singer and the song. There are sections on GALYIC, Coming Out, Homophobic Bullying and its Effects, then Challenging Stereotypes. Each section is highlighted by video extracts, poetry, coming out stories. This hard-hitting and thought-provoking presentation ends with a three-minute DVD made by the Learning Skills Council.

Members have already given the presentation to two schools (as well as other agencies) and received good feedback; we look forward to further invitations from other schools. Click here for link to Presentation section
